Rowallan 148cm Premier Show
Sisters Rebecca and Roberta Roe were in dominant form at Rowallan’s 148cm Premier Show, where they won both John Whitaker International JA Classics, reports Mark McGowan.
Rebecca jumped the sole treble clear in the first day’s JA classic on Aroldo. James Smith finished second on home soil with Mr Nice Guy. Oliver Evans on Red Fox was third, while George Whitaker took the final ticket with Ringo Star.
The second day’s JA classic saw Roberta Roe take the top spot with New York Spritzer with the only treble clear. Heledd Thomas (Dooly) and Laura Neilson (Micklow Madness) also qualified for the final.
Pippa Allen and Home Flight II were victorious in the opening day’s winter JC qualifier. Jessie Drea and Fermali’s Silke were second, ahead of Zoe Wilson on Knightsbridge.
Beth Mantel headed the second day’s JC line on Salty’s Top Babe, ahead of Rebecca Britton on CB Morning Mist. George Whitaker captured the other Royal International ticket on Grafitti.
Stainsby Grange Small Pony Premier
Honours in the opening day’s winter 128cm at Stainsby Grange went to 10-year-old Jessica Mendoza on Get Ready Freddie, reports Malcolm Bewsher. Millie Allen was runner-up on Flinor Songbird. The second Royal International ticket went to Cameron Thompson on Mister Boots, while Laura Robinson with Red Hot Patootie were third to qualify.
Spencer Roe won the 138cm class on the 13-year-old mare Creative Dancer II.
Lucy Smith was 2sec in arrears on Mavericks Chance, while the other qualifier was Pippa Goddard on Mr Blue.
Kelsey Gill, 10, jumped the sole treble clear to take the honours in day two’s 128cm qualifier on Just Talk Atlanta. Spring Disney gave Jessica Mendoza her second Royal International place. Third was Yasmin Tanfield and the 21-year-old Skibbereen Girl.
Harriet Moiser won the following 138cm qualifier on Rich Brown. Olivia Wells and More Than Milton finish in second place, with Chloe Aston on Milika qualifying for Hickstead in third.
