  • Heart Of England

    Stephanie Croxford rode her up-and-coming youngster Red Senator to win both advanced mediums at Heart of England, reports Jo Prestwich. Co-organiser Claire Ballantyne kept both mediums on home soil courtesy of the German-bred Fame, a horse she owns with Australian Judy Smith. Tricia Wright and Donn Davi Don won four out of four, including both elementary classes in the horse’s debut at the level.

    Harolds Park Farm

    Santor securing his place at the regional championships with a double win at elementary for Elenor Dimant, reports Ruth Pearce. Michelle Girt led the novice qualifier on her bay Tobiano Perfect Contrast, who she bought as a foal six years ago. Perfect Contrast only recently returned to competion after having her own foal.

    Croft Top

    Croft Top’s music qualifiers may not have had huge entries, but there were some big percentages alongside a decent audience, reports Jo Prestwich. Dianne Breeze won the advanced medium with Grand Madame and finished second in the prix st georges on Flyaways Laurin. Gill Pollard’s Shire/Thoroughbred all-rounder mare Gambarda won the medium, while Philippa Hamilton took both the novice and elementary music classes with her own Ukiep.

    Manor Grange Stud

    Lisa McGovern’s part-Thoroughbred Northern Skipper won the advanced medium at Manor Grange Stud, Yorkshire, reports Jo Prestwich. The Lusitano stallion Pinglim won the medium qualifier for Vanessa Walker. Callum Whitworth and Bandolero headed the novice qualifier. The highest percentage of the day came in the prelim qualifier where Alison Wilkinson and Time Out scored 74.58%.

    Sparsholt College

    Tuula Aer was top scorer at Sparsholt’s last show of 2006, with almost 73% in the medium on Rivaldi II, reports Helen Triggs. Nicky Hodge won the elementary with her schoolmaster Broadstone Dollarmite. Anna Sclater’s Florenza VI took the advanced medium class with Liz Diegutis, while Jacky Stolper and Pippa Prideaux’s Geisha continued to improve at prix st georges level and won the class.
