European Showjumping Championships dates
The 2025 European Showjumping Championships will take place on 16-20 July September in A Coruña, Spain.
Where are the 2025 European Showjumping Championships?
The 2025 showjumping Europeans will take place at the Casas Novas Equestrian Center, a major hub of equestrian sport in the region and the venue of a Longines FEI World Cup qualifier for nearly a decade. This event marks the 25th anniversary of Casas Novas.
Who is the course-designer for the showjumping Europeans?
The course-designer for the 2025 European Showjumping Championships will be Spain’s Santiago Varela, who was one of the co-course designers at the Paris Olympics.
European Showjumping Championships format
The competition runs from Wednesday 16 July to Sunday 20 July, with the vet-check and warm-up for all competitors on Tuesday.
The sport begins on Wednesday with the first round against the clock for all competitors (team and individual), from which scores and times are converted to penalties. There then follows two rounds of team competition (four riders per nation) on Thursday and Friday, which also count as individual qualifiers. The team medals are decided on Friday 18 July.
The championships conclude with two rounds of individual jumping on Sunday afternoon (20 July). The top 25 combinations will have qualified for round one, with just 12 going on to round two after which the final individual medals will be presented.
How many riders will be taking part?
There will be 18 teams competing at the championships this time, which is up from 15 in Milan 2023.
In total 98 horse and rider combinations from 27 European countries are expected to come forward for the competition, with 10 representing their nations as individuals.
The final entries are expected to be confirmed by 30 June.
2023 European Showjumping Championship medals
The FEI European Jumping Championships are held every other year, in the off years between the World Championships and the Olympics. The 2023 Europeans were held at Milan in Italy.
