Showjumper Ellen Whitaker has given birth to her first child — a boy called Harry.
Harry Marinas Whitaker is the first child for the 28-year-old and her partner, Spanish showjumper Antonio Marinas Soto.
Ellen had an emergency c-section on Saturday (17 May) as the baby was two weeks overdue. He was born at 6.57pm and weighed 8lb 1oz.
Ellen’s cousin William is also expecting his 2nd child with partner Elisabeth. They already have a daughter, Isabella, who is 2. The baby is due in August.

Ellen is the daughter of Steven Whitaker, who is brother to top showjumpers Michael and John. They also have a brother called Ian, who did not follow the family tradition to become a showjumper, although his son William — Ellen’s cousin — has enjoyed considerable success. Steven is married to Carol and in addition to Ellen, they have three sons: Joe, Thomas and Donald. Ellen’s successful showjumping cousins also include John’s son Robert.
